Story
Break The Chains was written based on my time working with kids at a group home in New Jersey (JINS) Juveniles In Need Of Supervision. The group conversation, one on one talks, there rebellious ways and allowing me into their personal life is what made me write the script. Break The Chains is a story similar to “Bustin Loose”. A film about triumph, letting go of our demons and not accepting what people think about us. A story that speaks for those who feel they are not being heard and a wakeup call to those who refuse to listen to the cries our youth. The end result. Everyone that reads this script and hopefully one day view the film will leave with a sense of being educated, uplifted and proud they were part of this story. The classroom conversation, the flow of the story is very important to creating a great story. There is a scene where Bryan is taken to the police station, Tony meeting his young friend, Olivia standing up for herself and a conversation from the “Andy Griffin” show that talks about prejudice. In order to change as a person or a community we must zero in on the things that change who we are mentally and “Break The Chains” is that story.
