In a Land of Sand and Snakes By Travis Eller

in a land of sand and snakes

The desert, it surrounds the low income housing so prevalent in this area. There are no neighborhoods or suburbs, only groupings of five or six homes at the most. This is the kind of place that a person would rather pass through rather than take up residence in yet, people live here, in old run-down houses and trailer homes. One home could easily be miles from the next. Trash of different sorts litter the so-called lawns including beat up automobiles and rusted machine parts. Junk of all kinds adds to the landscape of each individual dwelling. Dogs bark through chain-link fences and driveways are mostly un-paved. Beauty does exist but only over the distant desert mountains during a sunrise or sunset. No man is envious of another's property. This is lower class living and the people it affects.

FRANK PARSONS (44) has just been released from prison after serving a ten year sentence for bank robbery. He is an intelligent man, manipulative and dangerous with devious ideas. He's home now, to find his brother JAMES (37) and claim what is his. JAMES was his masked partner in the bank heist. They made a promise that if one was caught then the other would keep their half of the money hidden in a safe place.

FRANK's quest for cash is slowed due to unseen obstacles in his path. A lot has changed in the ten years he was gone. His wife ABBY is having an affair with his brother IKE (34). HOBBS is the crooked small town sheriff who suspects he knows the truth and seeks the money for himself. CATHERINE (35) is the girlfriend of JAMES and sister of ABBY, she also knows about the money. She wants it for herself to get out of the life she hates so much. JAMES has made some bad decisions and has gotten into "other" types of trouble.

All Hell breaks loose when FRANK has to formulate an evil plan to rid himself of anyone in his way of regaining his small fortune. Family means nothing to him.

Trust no one. No one cares about anything but themselves and the money that lay hidden in this desolate desert environment. "IN A LAND OF SAND AND SNAKES".
